Hi everyone!

Gamescom is coming up and as last year it was so great to have you all here in Cologne and share our Machine Translation progresses with you, we thought to repeat the event, but with a different and broader focus. This time around it will be about “Innovation”. We will share with you our achievements with Machine Translation, some new processes we have implemented in terms of quality evaluation, new self-developed tool introduced in the localization process, new workflows and anything that brought a new way of seeing localization of video games. We would love to hear from you as well, with a 20 minutes presentation about your achievements in the past year. Feel free to fill in the form here, your contributions will be key to a successful workshop.
The event will be on August 19th at our EA Cologne office. We have about 50 seats, so please confirm your attendance and extend it to your colleagues if you want. And to respect the tradition, you will be invited to the great EA happy hour happening the day after at Gamescom.

I’m excited and looking forward to seeing you all again!

Hi everybody!

The loc team from Goodgame Studios would like to invite you to our workshop “Thinking outside the localization box” on November 29th in our headquarters in Hamburg. We would like to focus on experiments that challenge the current status quo and celebrate learning, both from successes and failures, as an essential tool in our fast-pacing industry. We will share with you the results and lessons learned of a large-scale localization satisfaction survey we have carried out this year and hope to learn from you and your experiences too! For that, we will both offer some setups that encourage knowledge exchange and invite you to present your own experiments in 30 or 60 minutes talks. Please use our call for papers form to propose topics, we are thrilled to learn from you!

To close up, some organization info: we only have 25 seats, so please sign up on time! Even if it’s crazy to even think about it at this time of the year, the Christmas markets will be open by the time we seat together and we plan to join one afterwards.
We are looking forward to meet you all in our beautiful city!

Best,
Isabell, Andreas and Clara

EVENT UPDATE - Unfortunately, the timing for the planned Quality Standard in Game Localization Work Group meeting turned out to be more challenging than convenient for participants so Silvio and Susan decided to move the initiative to a less contended date later in the year. They will let us know as soon as specifics about it are in.

I wish you all a sunny weekend and hope to see some of you next week in Lisbon :)
